Diabetes deaths 'are avoidable'

According to figures from the NHS Information Centre, there are 24,000 avoidable deaths from diabetes each year in England with women aged 15 to 34 particularly at risk.

Dr Bob Young, consultant diabetologist at Salford Royal Hospital, works on the National Diabetes Audit says measures to offset diabetes are not being put into place.
