Rebecca Ferguson 'made me eat my hat'

The Daily Telegraph's chief pop and rock music critic is no fan of the X Factor, which he says has produced "the most mundane, banal, cliched pop music". But he was forced to "eat his hat" when he heard the voice of last year's runner-up, Rebecca Ferguson.

Speaking to the Today programme, the singer and the critic discuss whether it is possible to come out of the X Factor and become a credible musician.
