Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who has been held in captivity in Gaza for five years has arrived in Egypt.
Hamas say they have officially handed him over to the Egyptians in preparation for his release. In return Israel is bussing the first 500 of a 1,000 Palestinian prisoners back to freedom in Gaza and the West Bank.
The BBC's middle east correspondent Kevin Connolly reports from Gaza City on the preparations for the exchange.
