Ditching cheques 'will fail customers'

An effort by banks to get rid of cheques has been met with resistance by the lobby group Consumer Focus, who say two thirds of us still write and cash cheques.

Andrew Tyrie, chair of the Treasury Select Committee, and Sandra Quinn of the Payments Council, the body with the power to abolish cheques, debate why ditching cheques will "fail consumers".
