Child abuse 'link to persistent depression'

Childhood abuse doubles the risk that someone will suffer serious conditions such as clinical depression in later life, and it means they are less likely to respond to treatment, according to a new study.

Dr Andrea Danese of the Institute of Psychiatry at Kings College London, which lead the research, explains the findings.
