Boris Johnson: 'Not a time' for police cuts

Boris Johnson has said that the riots in England have "substantially weakened" the case for a cut in police numbers.

Speaking to Today presenter John Humphrys, the London mayor said that "with the world looking" at the UK ahead of the Olympics, it was time for the government to "have another look" at police funding.

The time had come, he said, to start thinking "really creatively" about how to deal with young people with "no boundaries, no respect for adults".
