With just one year to go until the London Olympics, how are British athletes making sure they reach their peak at the right time?

Sports presenter Rob Bonnet has been following the progress of 37-year-old distance runner Helen Clitheroe as she prepares for the "massive motivator" of the 2012 London Olympics.

"I suppose you obviously have your private ambitions", she added, "but what what athlete wouldn't dream of being on the podium at the Olympic Games?"

The Today programme will be following Helen through all the ups and downs of Olympic training in the year ahead.
