'African exodus' hits Lampedusa

Over the last few days more than 1000 migrants from Libya have arrived on the Italian Island of Lampedusa.

They follow thousands more before them, some displaced by the fighting, some using the chaos of the Arab Spring as an opportunity to come to Europe to find employment.
