Lord Dannatt: Hacking allegations 'appalling'

Details about the relatives of soldiers killed in Afghanistan were found in the possession of the private investigator working for the News of the World, according to the Daily Telegraph.

Former head of the army Lord Dannatt insists that, while "there is no doubt at all that the armed forces... have had great support from News International", the allegations are "appalling".
