Corruption 'killing enterprise' in Russia

The former prime minister of the Ukraine, Yulia Tymoshenko, will appear in court today charged with abuse of power during her time in office, a charge which she denies.

It is seen by some to be a symptom of the corruption which seems to be a legacy of the Soviet system.

The BBC's Edward Stourton investigates why corruption is such a big problem in the region.
