Do gardens need big business?


The Chelsea Flower Show will be attracting green-fingered businessmen this week, after the Royal Horticultural Society's website promised investors exposure to "around 700,000 enthusiasts... many of them affluent people".

Jane Owen, editor of the FT's house and home section, and Mark Stephens, chair of the Contemporary Art Society, debate if big business has commercialised the show.
