UK 'must hold to aid commitment'

Opposition has been raised to government plans to enshrine in law the UK's commitment to spending 0.7% of the national income on overseas aid.

The Liberal Democrat MP Malcolm Bruce, who chairs the International Development Select Committee, and the Conservative backbencher Patrick Mercer consider the potential impact of such a move.
