'Inadequate and overdue response' to youth unemployment

The government has announced plans to spend £60m more on apprenticeships, training and work placements, in a bid to slash youth unemployment.

Shadow employment minister, Stephen Timms, told Evan Davis that it was "a rather inadequate response".

"The real problem is a lack of real growth in the economy," he said. "There simply aren't enough jobs".
