President Barack Obama is planning to visit the small Irish village of Moneygall, County Offaly, where his great, great, great grandfather lived before emigrating to the US in the 1850s.

Distant relatives of the US president are still living in the village.

The 298 residents of the village are now busy preparing for the official visit.

Ireland correspondent Mark Simpson reports.
