Syrian spokeswoman: 'They were armed gangs'

Syrian security forces were out on the streets in towns across the country on Friday, after demonstrators promised a "day of defiance" in the seventh week of widespread anti-government protests.

Reem Haddad, the director Syrian state TV and spokeswoman for the Syrian administration, began to explain why the government is using tanks and guns against unarmed protesters.
