Should teachers be trained in the classroom?

The government has set out a plan to train teachers in schools rather than universities, a proposal that has sparked controversy among teaching unions.

Sally Hunt, general secretary of the University and College Union, and Chris Woodhead, former chief inspector of schools, debate the pros and cons of the scheme.
