High speed rail 'needs more consultation'

A group of environmental charities has criticised plans for a London to Birmingham high speed rail link, saying that the government has not allowed proper public participation in the decision.

Deborah Tripley, chief executive of the Environmental Law Foundation, explains why better consultation and appraisals are vital.
