Defectors 'have not always settled well'

It is widely assumed that the former Libyan foreign minister Moussa Koussa has been giving UK officials information from inside the Gaddafi regime, yet the government says that he has been offered no protection against prosecution.

The writer Alan Judd and Vitali Vitaliev, the Soviet journalist who defected to the UK at the end of the Cold War, discuss the mechanics of defection.
