Police cuts 'will affect feet on the beat'

The Association of Chief Police Officers has calculated that 28,000 civilian and police posts must go as a result of cuts in expenditure over the next four years, with 12,000 police posts to be lost.

Dr Tim Brain, former chief constable of Gloucestershire, analyses the figures.
