School choice 'needs fair banding system'

Today hundreds of thousands of 11-year-old children will be receiving the news that they are either being enrolled into their first choice of school, or not. In some parts of England as many as 60% of children will not get their first choice. Lisa Askem, a parent and Francis Gilbert, founding member of the Local Schools Network (LSN), debate the fairest way of allotting school places.
