'Practical difficulties' in divorce mediation

From April, all divorcing couples will be asked to consider a mediation assessment under plans being published today.

The couple will not be allowed to go to court unless they have both sat down with a trained mediator.

Sir Mark Potter, the former president of the Family Division, examines the impact of a consultation on legal aid for divorce cases.
