Britain's secret war

British mercenaries fought a secret war in the 1960s, with the knowledge of the UK government, it has been revealed.

British colonel Jim Johnson, appalled at Egypt's invasion of Yemen, arranged for soldiers to train and fight alongside Yemenis.

Duff Hart-Davis, author of The War that Never Was and Kerry Stone, who took part in the conflict, describe the events.
