'All to play for' in market regulation

Later this week, a consultation will close on the European Commission's plans for sweeping new rules for financial services.

European policy makers want to ensure that, two years on from the financial crisis, there is greater transparency and competition.

Jonathan Herbst, a Partner in the financial services group at the law firm Norton Rose, analyses the possible outcome of the review.
