Vince Cable says the undercover revelations that led to his being taken off the BSkyB deal is "water under the bridge" and that he has "complete confidence" that Jeremy Hunt will be "scrupulous" in his handling of the deal.

Speaking to Today presenter John Humphrys, the business secretary said, however, that the tactic of undercover reporting on MP surgeries "clearly affects the integrity of MPs conducting confidential surgeries".

Had it not been for the undercover reports, he said, he would be "following process in the same way as Jeremy Hunt is".
