Pupil premium 'will have modest impact'

The government plans to reduce social inequalities at schools by providing extra £430 each year for every pupil judged to be from a disadvantaged group.

Luke Sibietta of the Institute for Fiscal Studies argues this will have only "a relatively modest" impact on the attainment gap.
