'Simplicity' plea over murder sentencing

We have received result of the most detailed research into what the public think about penalties for murder.

Currently the penalty is life imprisonment, but the Law Commission suggests we move to the American system of having first and second degree murder.

Criminal barrister, William Clegg and former Lord Chancellor, Lord Falconer debate the murder issue.
