Audit Commission warns over fraud controls

According to the latest report from the Audit Commission, councils in England uncovered nearly 120,000 cases of fraud last year worth £135m. It is the last time the spending watchdog will release its annual survey before being abolished. The Commission warns that cuts to council budgets may weaken fraud controls. The Commission's chairman, Michael O'Higgins, outlines his concerns.
