Man Booker shortlist: Emma Donoghue

The shocking case of Josef Fritzl, who imprisoned and raped his own daughter in Austria, is the bleak inspiration for Room, one of this years' Man Booker Prize-nominated novels.

In the first of her previews of the six shortlisted authors and their books, arts correspondent Rebecca Jones asks author Emma Donoghue about how the heart-rending tale led her to write the novel.
