The justice debates: Probation

The government is promising a "rehabilitation revolution" as part of its review of criminal sentences, due to be published this autumn.

Much of the work in trying to rehabilitate offenders back into society - and cut the chances of them reoffending - rests with the probation officers.

In the last of their debates, filmmaker and criminologist Roger Graef and the Harvard professor Christoper Stone outline the challenges facing the probation service.
