GPs 'to be more involved in maternity care'

The role of GPs in maternity care in England has all but disappeared over the past 30 years, according to a recent report.

Chairman of the Royal College of GPs, Professor Steve Field and Belinda Phipps, of the charity the National Childbirth Trust, debate whether GPs should share responsibility for maternity care with midwives and obstetricians.
