'Doing things by the book' not enough in child protection

The government is announcing a shake-up of child protection and social work in England. It wants social workers to spend more time with children and less doing paperwork.

Prof Eileen Munro of the London School of Economics, who will be carrying out the review, told the Today programme that "time and money is being spent" on bureaucracy that is not helping children.
