Does it matter that less than a quarter of MPs are women?

Playwright Gillian Slovo has interviewed female politicians in the past. She says Labour women felt much more than the Conservatives that it was "important to have more women because they would change the very nature of politics"

Conservative MP Mary MacLeod believes that "what you want in parliament and elsewhere is a cross section of society" as it will "changes policies".
