Chief Secretary 'doesn't need to be an economist'

Danny Alexander MP is to replace David Laws as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, following Mr Laws' resignation after admitting he claimed expenses to pay rent to his partner.

Times journalist Oliver Kamm, and former second permanent secretary at the Treasury Sir Steve Robson, comment on whether Mr Alexander is suitable for the role.
