Japan "robbed of exploration"

Author David Mitchell is seen as a literary phenomenon, once toping Time Magazine's top twenty list of people whose "talent, powers, and moral example is transforming the world".

Today presenter John Humphrys spoke to the author about his approach to writing and his new book, The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet.
