Tactical voting call 'smacks of political bankruptcy'

The Conservatives have attacked Labour politicians' attempts to persuade the electorate to use their vote tactically.

Speaking to Today presenter James Naughtie, Conservative Dr Liam Fox said the move emphasised the "optimism" of the Conservatives.

"We've got the other two parties saying what they don't want. David Cameron... is telling people to vote for what they want, to vote for what they believe in".
