Byrne: EU 'has got it wrong'

The government's plans for reducing the budget deficit are not ambitious enough - according to a European Commission report to be published on Wednesday.

Liam Byrne, Chief Secretary to the Treasury, told the Today programme that he thought the EU's judgement was wrong and that the plan they have set out would cause "irreparable damage" to public services or taxpayers.
