Council job cuts 'could be as high as 100,000'

A local government expert has said that the BBC survey suggesting 25,000 job cuts in local councils is "cautious".

Tony Travers, of the London School of Economics, told the Today programme he would be "amazed" if the cuts were so low, and said as many as 100,000 jobs may be lost.
