The Conservative leader David Cameron is expected to attack the prime minister for tolerating the idea that MPs might use parliamentary privilege to protect themselves against prosecution for abuses of expenses.

Mr Cameron says the three Labour MPs involved should have the Labour whip removed. He will also apparently say his party would introduce a new parliamentary privilege bill to clarify the law.

The Shadow Leader of the Commons, Sir George Young discusses what a new bill would do.
