Afghan security 'has to come first'

Last week the future of Afghanistan was discussed at a conference in London attended by Gordon Brown and President Karzai.

30,000 more troops will be deployed to fight the war and a new policy of re-integrating Taliban fighters is to be introduced.

John Nagl, a leading US counter-insurgency expert, considers the West's strategy to re-build Afghanistan.
