Dementia research 'funding gap'

More than 820,000 people in the UK suffer from dementia, significantly higher than previous estimates. An Alzheimer's Research Trust reports found that the cost to the economy is £23bn a year, twice as much as cancer but gets a fraction of the funding.

Professor Alastair Gray from the Health Economics Research Centre at the University Oxford and the report's co-author, explains the findings.
