Suicide rate 'underestimated'

The number of people committing suicide has risen according to new figures. 5,706 suicides were recorded for 2008, up on previous years.

The highest rates were among young men.

Dr Michael Powers QC, an expert on coroners' law, explores whether the figures are a true indication of suicide rates.
