A year on from the war in Gaza

Palestinians say that more than 1,400 Gazans were killed during the fighting while on the other side, 13 Israelis, including three civilians, died.

Since Hamas took over the Gaza Strip in 2007, the territory has been under a tight blockade by both neighbouring Israel and Egypt.

Our guest editor Robert Wyatt wanted to know what everyday life is like for civilians inside the Gaza Strip. Middle East correspondent Tim Franks reports from Gaza.
