PM calls for 'major reform' of politics

Recent polls indicate public support for Labour has dropped below that of both the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats for the first time since 1987.

Prime Minister Gordon Brown discusses the moral and political damage caused by the ongoing expenses scandal, saying that major constitutional reform was now necessary.

As Euro elections approach he made it clear that he would not be standing down as he was "in the best position to clean up this political system" himself.
