The Western world 'doesn't exist'


Can graphs change lives? Professor Hans Rosling has been credited by Microsoft's Bill Gates as one of his inspirations to give so much to charity - the reason? Beautiful graphs. Professor Rosling makes animated graphs of world data for his project Gapminder.org. He says people still hold powerful misconceptions about the world, not because of a lack of data, but because the tools for understanding the data have not been created and the data remains hidden in the databases.
