Sarah Montague reviews today's stories
The funeral of a police officer murdered by dissident republicans in County Armagh on Monday is to take place in Banbridge, County Down.
Presenter Edward Stourton travelled to Northern Ireland to report on the aftermath of the attack.
He spoke to retired Chief Superintendent Brian McCargo, a friend of murdered Constable Stephen Carroll, who described a "quiet, unassuming, gentle sort of a guy" and spoke of his hope that the public would help track down the killers.
The programme also featured the first broadcast interview with former Guantanamo Bay detainee Binyam Mohamed.
Reporter Jon Manel spoke to Mr Mohamed about his arrest in Afghanistan, his "seven years of darkness" in detention, and his belief that he would not have been tortured without the involvement of MI5.
After a failed attempt to track down Arthur Scargill last week, reporter Nicholas Jones eventually heard from the miners union leader when he spoke at a rally in London - 25 years after the miners strike spread throughout the UK.
"He sounds exactly the same as he did 25 years ago," says Sarah in her programme review.
Finally, Sarah was ambushed by an angry sounding Jo Brand at 0830. The comedian is moonlighting as a continuity announcer on Radio 4 for Comic Relief and picked a fight with Sarah over a previous interview.
" I was, I think, very dignified in response," says Sarah.
