Exam marking situation 'worrying'


Kathleen Tattersall, the head of Ofqual, had said the quality of marking of this year's Sats tests was as good as previous years - but now admits it could have been a premature judgement. Christine Blower, of the National Union of Teachers, calls the row "a shambles"; while Professor Alan Smithers, director for education and employment research at the University of Buckingham, explains the contract with ETS.
