Rolls Royce luxury 'is art'

Rolls Royce has announced record total sales of 3,600 cars, which, at around £250,00 per car, equates to nearly £1bn in sales.

Despite widespread austerity throughout Europe sales were up over 20%.

Torsten Muller-Otvos, chief executive of Rolls Royce Motor Cars, told Today business presenter Simon Jack that "we are not in the car business... yes, we are building cars, but it is luxury business at the end of the day."

"A Rolls Royce is even seen, I would say, as a piece of art," he added.
