Ten Americans are being held in Haiti on suspicion of trying to smuggle children out of the country. They were detained as they tried to take more than thirty young children to the neighbouring Dominican Republic. The group, from a Baptist church, said it was planning to set up an orphanage there. But their arrest comes amid concern that the recent earthquake has left children vulnerable to child traffickers.
