Rugby League
What's the score?
This code of rugby is traditionally popular in the north - especially around Lancashire and Yorkshire.

But it's on the move!

New teams like the London Broncos mean rugby league is starting to take off elsewhere too.

And the sport's "Super League" is now played in summer rather than winter.

Top tip
Most clubs have a junior programme for both girls and boys.

The Bradford Bulls and Castleford Tigers run tag and non-contact sessions that let kids ease their way in.

What's in the kit bag?
Studded boots, mouthguards and shinpads are recommended.

You can also get protection gear for the head, ears, chest and shoulders.
