Living with the pain

Thomas Castaignede limps off against Australia
Thomas was in plenty of pain for a year

Thomas Castaignede

Every minute I was in pain.

Even when I was lying in bed I could still feel it.

It's the worst thing when you get injured, you can't put it out of your mind, it's all you think about.

But it was even worse for me because I had a hole in the back of my foot and I could see straight through it!.

I could see the bones in my foot, straight through to the other side of my foot.

It was horrible, it was definitely one of the worst moments of my life.

I had four operations, I never knew how it was going to finish.

But I was perfectly confident in my doctor.

He had never seen a case like mine before, but he helped me and hopefully I helped him.
